Clubs in Harlem

The clubs and organizations in Harlem play an important role in making it a pleasant and vital city. Here are just a few of the active clubs in Harlem.

Harlem Woman's Club

Women's Club Seal
The Harlem Woman's Club is a woman's civic organization that has been serving the Harlem community since 1925. Throughout the club's history, it has fostered mutual counsel and helpfulness throughout Harlem. Currently there are 34 members of the club.

Meetings are held September through May on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 4 pm at the Harlem Woman's Club Building, Highway 78 in Harlem.

The Harlem Lion's Club meets the 1st and 3rd Monday nights at BG's at 7:00pm  

Harlem Area Aglow

Harlem Area Aglow is a trans-denominational women's ministry and is part of Aglow International - a network of caring women with groups in over 150 nations around the world.  We meet the 3rd Saturday of each month at the Harlem United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall at 10:00 AM.  For more information or to register for free childcare.

Awana Clubs International

Awana Clubs International, is a nondenominational, Christian youth organization. Awana Clubs International sponsors clubs in local churches around the world.
The purpose of the clubs is to encourage young people in social interaction, physical activities, and Bible study and memorization. Using a unique concept of four-team competition, variety in club programming, and a progressive system of achievements contribute to accomplishment of these goals for each clubber. The Awana program also offers uniform awards and trophies as clubbers reach successive plateaus of achievement. 
Awana meets at several churches in and around Harlem:

Berth Marks Tent

Berth Marks Tent is the local Laurel & Hardy appreciation club of Laurel & Hardy.  This organization is part of the world known Sons of the Desert.  Meetings are held the 3rd Tuesday of each month at the Laurel & Hardy Museum.  For information on becoming a member contact Kathy Ham at City Hall.
